I Regret Everything
Yesterday, it came to light that the next Team Fortress 2 update (rumoured to be either the Demoman or Spy pack) will not be coming until some time in 2009;
“Well, it won’t be this year,” said Lombardi when asked about the next update.
Sad news indeed. Well, sad news if your most played class is something other than a Pyro, Medic or Heavy (so I’m in the clear, natch). However, as if to make up for this, a very interesting post appeared on the official TF2 blog this morning, providing an… enlightening look at the design process behind their latest “Meet The…” video.
“Our script is pretty much exactly like Predator,” Jay agreed.
“We took the script for Predator and put our names on it,” Erik added, in case this hadn’t been clear.
Well worth a read, if only for the included MP3s from the cutting room floor.
My Blood, He Punched Out All My Blood!
Well, it seems blogging this video is all the rage, but then, who can blame them. Suffice to say, it’s my favourite ‘Meet the Team’ yet (and probably will be till ‘Meet the Pyro’ is finally released). Not only that but, as I’d hoped, this update has given me my game bac; I’m actually looking forward to going home and spending the evening setting people on fire (and in the game). I guess part of that is due to finally getting an RPS server sorted. Even if it is unofficial, it’s nice to have a place that’s ours, so thanks to Dan, Chris and everyone else for getting it sorted. And after a recent post marking the 1000th member of the Steam RPS group we’ve seen a large influx of members coming into the chatroom, certainly there are good times ahead for the RPS Community. Maybe we’ll finally see one of those oft-mentioned organised games!
Burn, Bitches!
Or not, as the case may be. Last night saw the release of the latest update for Team Fortress 2, which primarily concerned updates to the Pyro class. Now, anyone who knows me, or has even looked at the logo up there, may understands that this is my favourite class, and the one I am most adept at playing. Looked at my TF2 Stats earlier, and it seems I’ve spent a day of my life setting people on fire (and in the game). So, naturally, I was excited about this update.
